Our services
It is difficult to provide an exhaustive list of our services; a selection is shown below. If you have any questions as to what we can offer you, feel free to get in contact with us.
Buying and selling your home
This includes conveyancing of houses, bungalows or flats.
We can recommend independent financial advisors to deal with any mortgage advice, as well as surveyors and estate agents.
We are members of the Law Society's TransAction scheme.
Wills
Regarded by many as being something to do for tomorrow, or too complicated to consider.
In fact, it costs little to make a Will and ensures your wishes for your money and your possessions are legally recorded.
Family bereavement
At this sad and difficult time we can assist with the problems and paperwork that inevitably arise.
Financial Services
If you need advice regarding gifts, an inheritance, the investment of sale proceeds or just a 'financial health check' we can assist.
The firm is a member of the Solicitors Financial Services. This means we have access to providing our clients with independent financial advice.
Services for the Elderly
Astbury & Company pay particular attention to the needs of the elderly. These services include a visiting service (at agreed intervals) where we come to your home to assist with a variety of matters. These may include managing bank or building society accounts, completing tax returns, assistance with benefits, pensions, allowances etc.
Executorships
It is important to specify who will take charge of administering you affairs after you have died. We can act as your executors or jointly with a member of your family or family friend.
Enduring power of attorney
A point may be reached during your lifetime (on a temporary or permanent basis) when you are unable to manage your own affairs. Either through sickness, absence, or maybe you will not wish to be bothered. An Enduring Power of Attorney is the document which give those you have appointed (called 'attornies') legal authority to act on your behalf.
Again, we can act as your attornies, or prepare an attorney appointing a relative or friend.
